Our Namaste Yoga Collection includes an array of Jute and Cork yoga gear such as Yoga mats, Yoga Gear Bags and Cork Yoga Balance accessories. We used these materials in our yoga range due to their sustainable nature and superior properties over other conventional materials used for yoga gear.
Cork is the outer bark of the cork oak tree (Quercus suber L). Over the course of its lifetime, which on average lasts 200 years, it may be stripped around 17 times, acquiring a smoother texture after each harvest. This makes it a 100% natural, sustainable, reusable and recyclable material. Harvesting cork is also beneficial to the environment. Cork oak trees that are stripped of their bark, absorb and store larger amounts of carbon dioxide and also release more oxygen into the atmosphere. Our cork products are made from the the finest quality Portuguese Cork, which is considered the best in the world.
Some reasons why cork yoga mats are superior to conventional yoga mats are:
- Cork mats are chemical free, hence safe for all ages
- Cork contains a natural wax, called Suberin, that gives it a superior non slip grip
- Cork is naturally antimicrobial, so it inhibits the growth of odour causing and other microbes
- Cork mats are lightweight but extremely durable

Jute is a biodegradable, sustainable crop which has a high production level and replenishes nutrients in the soil. One hectare of jute cultivation purifies air by absorbing up to 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen during the growing process. Jute fabric is also hypoallergenic and antistatic. It is grown mostly in the Eastern regions of India, and in Bangladesh. Our jute products are made from high quality, ethically sourced jute, grown in India.
