The journey of yoga isn`t only about how we move our bodies. It`s also about how we cultivate our inner world.
The Niyamas, the second limb of yoga, are five personal observances that invite us to live with greater awareness and intention.
Śaucha teaches us that cleanliness extends beyond the physical. It is also about clearing mental clutter, refining our habits, and creating space for clarity.
Santosha reminds us that contentment isn`t the absence of ambition. It is the ability to appreciate the present moment without constantly chasing the next one.
Tapas is the inner fire that helps us stay committed to what truly matters, especially when the path feels challenging.
Svādhyāya is the lifelong practice of self study. Through reflection, sacred texts, and honest observation, we begin to understand ourselves more deeply.
Īśvara Praṇidhāna invites us to surrender the need to control every outcome, placing trust in something greater than ourselves while continuing to act with sincerity.
Together, these practices transform yoga from something we do on the mat into a way of living.
Which of these Niyamas speaks to you most right now?

Every season invites a different ritual.
This summer, we`re embracing the quiet simplicity of clay—an age old tradition that naturally complements the rhythm of warmer days.
Because mindful living isn`t about doing more. It`s about living in harmony with the season you`re in.
Have you made your summer switch yet?

Before you practice yoga, you meet its first discipline: how you live with the world.
The Yamas are not postures. They are not rituals. They are restraints that quietly shape character, clarity, and consciousness.
Ahimsa is non harm. In thought, word, and action. It is choosing gentleness even when ego wants impact.
Satya is truth. Not just speaking it, but living in alignment with what is real, not what is convenient.
Asteya is non stealing. Beyond material things, it is not taking what is not freely given, including time, attention, and credit.
Brahmacharya is mindful use of energy. Not suppression, but direction. Where your life force flows decides the quality of your life.
Aparigraha is non grasping. Releasing excess, control, and the need to hold more than what is required.
The Yamas are not restrictions. They are refinements.
A way of living that makes everything else in yoga possible.

Today, on the Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day, we honour Surya, the life giving force that makes all life on Earth possible.
The twelve mantras traditionally recited during Surya Namaskar are more than accompanying chants. Each mantra invokes a different name and attribute of the Sun, reflecting the many ways solar energy sustains and influences life.
Mitra, the friend of all.
Ravi, the radiant one.
Surya, the dispeller of darkness.
Bhanu, the illuminator.
Pushan, the nourisher.
Bhaskara, the giver of light.
These and other solar names appear throughout Vedic literature, particularly in the Rig Veda, where the Sun is revered as a source of light, vitality, order, wisdom, and renewal.
For the Vedic seers, the Sun was not merely an object in the sky. It was the visible force behind the rhythms of nature, the changing seasons, the growth of crops, and the continuity of life itself.
Perhaps this is why Surya Namaskar remains one of yoga`s most enduring practices. Beyond movement, it is an expression of gratitude for the light that nourishes all beings and sustains the world we share.
On this Summer Solstice, as we experience the longest day of the year, may we pause to acknowledge the source of energy that touches every aspect of life.
🙏Shubhamastu🙏
May auspiciousness prevail.
